Extremely chalky, very mildly chocolaty, and relatively unsweet— I applaud the uniqueness in flavor and the aim towards ‘better for you’— but there is little reason to pursue this version for taste alone.

Thick, chalky, and what sweetness exists tastes artificial and weird, though not completely out of character for Fairlife products. I appreciate that it’s low sugar and (very) high protein and it bears much more semblance to milk than other products in its category— but to drink it for its flavor is not recommended.
Unnaturally thick texture which doesn't feel milky. It is reminiscent of Fairlife, but definitely not an improvement (despite a little more protein and a bit more sugar). Mild metallic aftertaste is thankfully fleeting.
Very sour and slightly bitter cocoa taste that takes a few sips to acclimate to— and by the time you’ve adjusted, the bottle is gone.
So sweet, but so unnatural. Theres a super-strong fake-honey flavor that then morphs into a mouth-watering (not in a good way) cloying reaction. I think the tongue is trying to secrete as much saliva as it can to escort this product off of it as soon as possible.
Strong overall flavor, and a lot of what I get is sweetness, which is not what you’d expect from a ’25% less sugar’ product. I suspect the monk fruit extract, which is 150-200x sweeter than sugar, is a bit overplayed here, upstaging the ‘double chocolate’ element.
If ‘potting soil’ and ‘paint thinner’ had a baby, this would be the amniotic fluid. This isn’t really chocolate milk in the purest sense, it’s definitely a ‘health shake’— and it may deliver on that, but if it’s taste you’re after, spread garbage disposal gleanings on a cracker instead.
Powdery and chalky but delivers a good malty flavor that finishes with a touch of sweetness and implores you to take the next sip.
Still has the signature Fairlife taste with a prominent stevia leaf flavor that attacks the lateral edges of your tongue and evokes the sour/mouth-watery reaction. Unfortunately, this overpowers the other flavors and experience. This has excellent nutritional stats that are head and shoulders above other chocolate milks.
Noticeable amount of substrate suspended in the milk, and a fermented/rummy odor and flavor. The past-due date is still in the future, but it’s hard to believe after tasting it. Eek. I will caveat my score with the fact that I believe this entire 6-pack to be fermented. Pretty raw deal for $7.
Could use a bit more cocoa flavor but excellent balance and easy to enjoy. In a fridge full of chocolate milk, I found myself repeatedly reaching for this one until it was gone.
Everything is a miss here, from the overly emulsified texture to the noticeably unnatural sweetness that makes your mouth water (not in a good way). I’ve had worse, only because I’ve tried about 260 others to this point.
Reminiscent of Fairlife in many regards, with its thin/smooth combination, noticeable cocoa flavor, and slight ‘uniqueness’ (not in a good way) to the sweetener. Decently potable lower-sugar and lactose free option if enjoyment is not your primary charter.
Decent amount of cocoa, salt, cream, and sweetness— well rounded. The sweetness is slightly on the syrupy side, but overall it fits together decently.
Tastes like you’d expect something that has ‘pea protein’ as the second ingredient would. Pretty awful if expecting chocolate milk, though it’s truly not a fair comparison as this is a non-dairy product and should be out of scope. My curiosity was the only thing satisfied here.
Does an adequate job of hiding the artificial sweeteners and might be the best option so far in terms of a ‘better for you’ version of chocolate milk. It’s thin, smooth, and easily drinkable with noticeable cocoa flavor and adequate cream.
Same great texture as its lactic counterpart, but narrowly missing the excellent confluence of flavors. Still, this is a highly capable substitute for the normal version and remains a pleasure to drink.
Creamy and solidly balanced from a flavor standpoint. The chocolate flavor has a bit of a ‘rummy’ quality to it that has been present in other chocolate milks as well. Still a solid choice, especially for the lactose averse.
Just bad. I know it’s 30% less sugar and lactose free, and for what it is, maybe that’s fine. But objectively, it tastes like wet cardboard.
Noticeably more flavorful from the normal (lactose-containing) version perhaps because of the salty snap at the end of the taste. Pleasantly smooth and balanced taste.
