The most prominent flavor here is ‘regret.’ Fifty percent less sugar may be too ambitious— there’s zero sweetness, zero creaminess, no salt, minimal sour cocoa flavor, all wrapped up in a nasty dark gray liquid that, in retrospect, looks much more appetizing that what is delivered. Eschew.
Mildly metallic aftertaste that dissipates quickly, but the chalkiness is slower to vanish. From a flavor standpoint, it’s under sweetened an under salted; not recommended for recreational consumption.
Smoother texture than the non-light versions, and the horrendous taste is muted to enough of an extent that it *improves* the score. It’s the darkest product I’ve sampled thus far— reminiscent of crude oil.
Awful chemical taste, very grainy and unnatural feeling texture. I don't see how people can drink this voluntarily.
Grainier, slightly more natural feeling than the ‘Genuine’ Muscle Milk, but still hard to get down. Lots of grit in the teeth after each reluctant swallow.
Smells like turpentine, looks like coffee, tastes like a bit of a mixture of the two. There is a little bit of a creamy component that is welcomed, but the overwhelmingly dominant flavor is a sour/rummy/chemically taste that lingers in the mouth beyond what you’d hope.
Grainy and provides a drying sensation in the mouth. Noticeably chocolate flavor, but it's not particularly good-tasting chocolate. It's potable, especially coming from a can, and it may be less sweet than you'd expect. Nonetheless, it's a lower-tier option.
Sports an unnatural brown that borders on reddish as well as a texture that doesn’t look like it possesses normal milk properties. As I braced for a nasty, chemically flavor, I was pleasantly surprised that it was rather chocolaty, however watered-down. Its bark is worse than its bite.
The best product to come out of a can and/or vending machine thus far. It’s simply not hampered by most of the problems that plague canned or vending items— the texture feels true, there's minimal metallic taste, there’s adequate salt, and even a touch of a creamy feel. Pleasant surprise.
One of the 'better' canned products I've had so far out of a vending machine, but that’s not saying much. It still is fairly watery and tastes a bit like you'd expect chocolate soda to (it's not carbonated), and the chocolate flavor is palatable, unlike many of the others.
In this case, less flavor across the board makes it more palatable than many other canned chocolate drinks. The texture is thicker and chalkier than expected but the taste didn't outright offend me-- it was just poor.
Cocoa flavor isn’t terribly bad (perhaps has a slightly burnt quality) and the consistency manages to be rough and watery at the same time. The aftertaste doesn't do it any favors and leaves a tingling in the back of the throat.
Hearing the ‘crack’ of opening the can is by far the most enjoyable part of the experience. It’s extremely watery, which usually is a bad thing, but in this case it helps the sucky flavor dissipate more quickly.
Plasticky-looking and even has those tiny bubbles that make it look like it’s being tested for tuberculosis. The taste had a chemical fake-ness to it but it wasn't as strong as you’d expect by looking at it. Low marks, and an unceremonious product to be the 400th I have sampled thus far.
My first split-second impression upon taking a swig was ‘beer’ (and I hate the taste of beer). The feeling is fleeting, but it reappears each time I take a sip— there’s a slight hoppy-ness that I can’t deny is there. Feels like it’s trying too hard to be ‘rich’ but it’s really hard to fake it with meager fat content.
Mature, slightly sour cocoa flavor that manages to feel indulgent with less than 1g of fat per 100mL. It’s very rough on the tongue, but not too bad on the taste buds.
Unnatural across the board-- from the moment it slithers out of the can to the moment your pharynx begrudgingly allows it to cascade down your throat— it feels wrong. It's not the worst thing I’ve ever tasted or anything like that, just quite a step down from the fresh version.
Disgusting texture, flavor, and appearance. On the plus side, I’ve only seen it in 1 store of the ~100 visited in Seoul. At least the city has taste.
If the dark gray color wasn’t off-putting enough, give it a taste. It has a sourish enriched flavor, similar to that of Mullermilch, but less flavorful and even more unnatural tasting/feeling.
