Excellent creamy quality that the cocoa flavor unfortunately cannot live up to. I convinced myself that I tasted chocolate because I wanted to like it more than I actually did. On my second cup now, and while getting a pleasant maltiness, I also detect a slight rum-like flavor that I can't shake since having identified it.
Excellent thin, milky consistency that does well to deliver the flavor that it is tasked to carry— a flavor that I’m warming up to with each sip. It’s highly unique, and has a buttery-rum like quality but not in a nasty/boozy manner. More butter than rum, the cocoa is there but can get a little lost in the shuffle. Give this an honest try, I promise by the end you’ll appreciate the uniqueness.
Awesomely creamy, but carries more of a sugary flavor than one of cocoa or malt. It’s not a huge detriment, but everything else is so good that it’s easy to pick on the quality that isn’t quite there. Still, a very strong recommendation— this stuff is great.
Similar to the (non-organic) canned version in that it’s super thin, smooth, and primarily sweet with a somewhat skunky cocoa flavor playing second fiddle. It’s less pronounced in this version, but the watery base nudges this more toward the realm of ‘choco drink’ than ‘chocolate milk.’
Generous amount of salt brings out the cream and malt— providing a refreshingly unique flavor that isn’t heavy-handed with cocoa. It’s remarkably drinkable, thanks to the sharpness of flavor and thin viscosity (yet still a creamy taste).
Excellent look and texture, amply creamy considering the thinness, and definitely has a grassy note that I've not noticed in other chocolate milks. It's not earthy, and not overly chocolaty, but a tasty, unique drinking experience overall.
Salty, sweet, and chocolaty, it’s hard not to enjoy this. There’s a noticeable chalk to it, but when it delivers authentic-feeling cocoa flavor, it doesn’t register as obtrusive in the least. Flat out delicious!
Very similar to Dutch organic ‘Happy Chocolate’ in many ways— the only difference was that this seemed just a bit less salty— and I can’t decide which I prefer— they’re both outstanding.
Unique! It’s creamy, thin, a bit chalky, and the hazelnut flavor mixed in creates an almost cinnamon-y flavor that works surprisingly well with the rest of the product, perhaps because it nicely mutes the sweetness. This is not a flavor profile that I would seek out, but this formulation has won me over.
Unbelievably strong cocoa taste, I feel like I got a buzz from the first sip! There’s such a strong component of raw cocoa here that the bitterness comes through as well. It’s not very sweet, and it is extremely thick— what a unique drink this is!
Seemingly much improved (thinner) viscosity from the version I had in Frankfurt— paired with an excellent creamy quality and a mature cocoa flavor that feels like it belongs.
So incredibly brown that it's almost red-- feels like it's staining my teeth immediately upon consumption. Kinda worth it though-- it has a super strong cocoa flavor and a minute amount of sweetness (tastes a lot less sweet than the 8.8g sugar/100mL would suggest). It's also the first chocolate milk product I’ve had that is caffeinated (guarana). In short, this is memorable and should be sought out for fans of super dark chocolate.
Awesome aesthetics— whether in its separated or shaken state. It’s a very unique flavor— heavily sour, but swept away by a luxuriously creamy wave. It’s remarkable, in the sense that I’ll remember it for a long time and at some point in my life another taste of something will transport me momentarily back to Copenhagen in remembrance.
Delightfully creamy and mature with a slight sour note to the cocoa flavor. No thickeners here— only 3 ingredients, which really nails the thin-yet-creamy feel that is one of the most important features (to me) of a great chocolate milk.
Shockingly bitter upon first sip, but warms up quickly. I dig the uniqueness and the (way) under sweetened approach— it's memorable and reminds you that decent cocoa flavor doesn't require a ton of help.
Excellently thin, smooth, creamy, and darkish chocolaty. There’s a hint of chalk on the back end, but it still finishes predictably and competently. The best of the Cocio portfolio I’ve had yet (6 of them).
Not as sour as the original, but still chalky and also somehow watery. I think the flavor is different (spray paint?) than the original— not sure it’s better, and the texture seems confused.
Extremely chalky, very mildly chocolaty, and relatively unsweet— I applaud the uniqueness in flavor and the aim towards ‘better for you’— but there is little reason to pursue this version for taste alone.
The chocolate settles rather quickly— but it won’t be an issue to consume this one forthwith, it’s delicious. Beautiful aesthetics, strong dark chocolate flavor, thinnish viscosity, adequate cream— all things I wan’t and nothing I don’t.
