Zeal Grass Milk Creamery Chocolate Milk

Thick, creamy texture with a prominent grassy presence, hint of honey sweetness and a back-end Stevia bite. The search for any semblance of cocoa flavor lasted for 3 cups and was ultimately called off. I very much appreciate the texture and wildness factor, but simply put, the flavor falls well short of modest expectations and the choice to use Stevia (despite being a natural sweetener) causes a rather unnatural-feeling and suboptimal-tasting experience. Points for uniqueness though.

Nature's Touch Chocolate Milk

Creamier and marginally more flavorful than its low-fat counterpart, but decidedly does not do whole milk justice. Perhaps the ‘nature’ piece of the Nature’s Touch moniker is the high fructose corn syrup, [regular] corn syrup, corn starch, and water. Corn and water are both ‘natural’— so why not..

Martin's Chocolate Milk

A strong, stationery-esque taste has unfortunately leeched from the carton, distracting from its originally intended flavor. Texture-wise, it’s full and smoothly pleasant, and the sweetness is thankfully in check.

Ritchey's Chocolate Milk

Seems to be lacking the cream that you might expect from that extra 0.5% above the typical lowfat (which is present in the cartoned version). Nonetheless, an amply chocolaty experience in an eye-catching package that can hold its own in the mid-tier.

Wegmans Organic Lowfat Chocolate Milk

Intriguing cocoa flavor that drops hints of sourness before vanishing into the ether. The taste is preferable to the texture, which is on the thicker/starchier side. All in all, a unique chocolate milk that is a pleasant addition to the under-served UHT market in the States.

Sport Shake Power Shake Chocolate

Super dense, super sweet, and chock full of flavor, and in spite of my initial recoil, I can't say that it’s poorly executed. There's a chalky element, but it’s somewhat mitigated by the cream element-- and the flavor might singe the back of your throat, but that pales in comparison to what it does to your pancreas. Not bad.

Crystal Lowfat Chocolate Milk

A fairly strong saltiness suggests an almost peanut-buttery flavor upfront, especially since the chocolate piece never quite comes around. It's a tad thick for a low fat product, and despite some starch, the unique flavor held my attention throughout the entire pint.
